No Detailed Description SUMMARY Formulates and defines specifications to design, develop, test and modify computer hardware and peripheral equipment, and implement software operating systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Understands business areas supported to determine specific business requirements and support multiple business areas.
- Leads large, complex, more important projects or more than one project, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work; evaluating results, etc.
- Prepares project:
phase plans and implementation schedules, plans and conducts meetings and workshops relative to project plans and communicates project status reporting to all levels of management.
- Recommends and takes action to direct analysis and solutions of project issues.
- Responsible for taking projects from original concept to final implementation.
- Ensures adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables.
- Initiates, writes and seeks agreement to policies, standards and procedures that ensure optimal use of the department's strategy.
- Analyzes complex systems and software requirements to determine feasibility of design.
- Evaluates interface among hardware, software, operational and performance requirements.
- Formulates and designs software operating systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
- Designs and implements testing methodology; reviews and defines documentation.
- Confers with customers/users regarding operating system and software maintenance.
- Reviews and defines training manuals in the use of new or modified equipment, operating systems and software.
- Responsible for evaluation of new and existing software/hardware products.
- Acts as liaison with other departments, divisions and organizations.
- Develops and maintains business relationships and integrates activities with other IT business units/areas to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts.
- Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Trains junior level personnel in technical complexities of assigned work.

QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM QUALIFICTIONS - High school diploma or GED.
- Bachelors degree computer science, business administration, MIS, mathematics or engineering, plus 5 years of information technology experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- A current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification in Routing and Switching.
- 5 years of experience with manufacturing networks (i.
e.
SCADA, PLC's, etc.
).
