Summary:
Our well established Manufacturing client is seeking an experienced Technical Designer for this IMMEDIATE Direct Hire position.
Position
Summary:
This position will assist in the daily tasks of fit analysis, patternmaking, garment review, BOM review, database maintenance and any other duties as assigned.
Other tasks may include supporting the production and inspection teams by utilizing industry specific software (i.
e.
WebPDM) as well as standard office products.
This associate works closely with the cross functional teams to achieve and meet all critical dates associated with production schedules and assist in facilitating growth strategy and process improvements as needed as well as insure corporate standards are maintained.
Responsibilities:
o This position will be responsible for the clothing product line as well as sharing responsibility of handling carryover product in all categories as scheduling permits.
o Responsible for the organization and maintenance of the component (BOM) database and insure that BOM process and data is consistently applied for all product lines and categories o Maintain corporate standards of design intent throughout product lines.
o Work closely with cross functional departments to insure the creative vision of the line for each season is maintained consistently o Communicate directly with factories in all areas as it pertains to the proper execution of aesthetics and marketing details, trims and BOM of products o Review fit and construction details of carryover styles with existing production - making adjustments as appropriate to maintain company standards or to improve based upon fit review, team feedback, or other information such as quality review, etc.
o Insure garment tech packs are received by factory with all information as it pertains to construction, construction sketch detailing and illustrations, per company and design/merchant direction from initial purchasing following purchasing calendar through approval.
o Responsible for overseeing the proper disposal and filing of outdated garments to maintain work area organization and easy product reference when needed.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
This position may require some travel domestically a few times per year, depending upon company needs
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree in Textile Science or related field or 5
years o Understanding of garment construction in various types of fabrications o Knowledge of the fashion industry, garment development process o Passion for continuous improvement Requirements:
