Summary:
Plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Clinical/Nursing Services Department to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Qualifications:
Valid California RN license, in good standing, current CPR and BLS certificationsCollege/University degree preferred, five (5) years experience may substitute for degreeMinimum, three (3) years experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing, preferredMinimum six (6) months experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices
Responsibilities:
Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the nursing care industryDevelops, maintains, and periodically updates written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service departmentEvaluates department process making recommendations and implementing compliance and quality improvement policies, programs and proceduresOutstanding communication (oral and written) skillsLeads by example, working alongside staff members and treating them kindly and professionally at all times and in all circumstancesEnsures all clinical/nursing personnel comply with established standardsMaintains and improves as needed the quality of patient care and standards of careInterviews, hires, trains and manages employeesPlans, assigns, and directs work, conducts reviews, delivering discipline and or rewardsAddresses patient, family and employee complaints, documenting issues, solutions and resolving problemsCoordinates care services, and the implementation of care plans ensuring the best quality of life possible and for all patients/residentsConducts quality assessments including regulatory compliance rounds, in all departments to monitor performance and continuously improve systems, processes and qualityDevelops staffing plans that assure direct care needs are met, recommending quantity and types of personnel necessary to maintain compliance with all requirements, and PPDMaintains reference database or other training materials (i.
e.
, PDRS, Regulations, Standards of Practice, etc.
) to assist the department in understanding compliance requirements and empowering them to meeting the day-to-day needs of the residentsAudits clinical records for accuracy and completeness of comprehensive resident assessments, effective documentation reflecting resident responses to interventions and consistent implementation of plans of care by all staff and professionals, on all shiftsLeads/Participates in various company meetings and interdisciplinary conferences as needed to develop adequate plans of care
