Behavioral Health Specialist
Our client provides mental health counseling, housing services, and employment assistance to adults, children, and their familiesWith locations all throughout Northern California and an almost 50 year history, these programs offer an opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of hundreds, even thousands, of individualsThis position is based out of their Modesto location.
Responsibilities Provides leadership and guidance for clients as assigned in the absence of the Clinical Director or designeeSupports clients in all aspects of therapy, assists them in requesting and receiving services, and gives them the tools they need to achieve their objectivesadvocates on behalf of and helps clients and their families obtain and receive, when necessary, medical care, shelter, food, and clothes, as well as mental health therapysupports each client's unique service planmaintaining all client records, finishing needed paperwork and data entry per the program's requirements, and other things like progress logs, activity reports, and logsmeets with clients on a regular basis at our locations or out in the community, at workplaces, residences, boarding and care facilities, skilled nursing institutions, and other suitable locationsWith the client's permission, consults or routinely meets with the client's family, caregiver, or other important peopleteaches customers how to handle their money, maintain good personal hygiene, and be job-ready in an age-appropriate manneraids in determining a client's eligibility for Medi-Cal or other benefits and, as necessary, fights for the continuance of benefitsFor customers who use representative payee services, create financial management plans and approve necessary expensesprovides a defined client group with comprehensive case management services by constructively interacting within the teamgives individuals on-the-spot therapy that is both beneficial to them and in line with the program's philosophyDrives a personal car when conducting program business for the purposes of medication outreach, home visits, client transportation, community/county meetings/trainings, and MH courtfocuses on the clients' wellness, health, and safetytimely completion of documentation as assignedaccording to the requirements of the program, offers rotating on-call coverage after hoursRequirements 2 years of experience providing behavioral health services as a Case Manager, school counselor, behavioral health tech, or other similar positionNo licensure is required for this roleScheduleTuesday-Saturday, 8am-5pm.
