General Functions The Youth Development Professional is responsible for the implementation of a broad range of programs for youth between the ages of 6 and 18 within a designated Club in the areas of Education and Career Development, and The Arts.
The Youth Development Professional provides supervision to junior staff, program and volunteer staff.
Major Responsibilities Preparing Youth For Success Contributes to programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success.
Contributes to creating a club environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes.
Health and Safety Contribute to ensuring a healthy and safe environment.
Contributes to ensure that facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained.
Program Development and Implementation Contribute to effectively planning programs, services and activities.
Supervision Ensure a productive work environment Supervise the performance of assigned program volunteers and staff.
Partnership Development Contribute to developing partnerships with parents and families.
Marketing and Public Relations Contribute to developing and maintaining Public Relations Knowledge of:
Safety practices and procedures relating to the work; Computer applications related to the work.
Principles related to development of youth between 7 and 18 years of age.
Group leadership skills, and understanding of group dynamics.
Ability to:
Instruct, coach and direct varied activities; Implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for assigned programs; Exercise independent judgment and initiative within general policy guidelines; Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Relationships:
Internal:
Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues and explain guidelines/give instructions/instruct and advise/counsel.
External:
Assist with promoting and marketing Club programs.
Requirements:
Education, Experience, and Skills:
High School diploma; some college required.
A minimum of two years of experience working with youth ages 6 to 18 years.
Ability to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid.
Possession of a valid state driver license.
Job Type:
Part-time Pay:
$15.
25 - $17.
25 per hour Health and Safety.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
