Job Description Design Director (PK) Food & Beverages Artistic - Graphic Artist Full-time United States - California - Central Valley - Modesto The Compensation Benefits - Full Interview Travel Reimbursed - Yes Detailed Job Description SUMMARY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS o Ensures that a high quality of creative is delivered with a superior attention to detail while maintaining consistently high standards.
o Studies the creative marketplace, stays current with trends and innovation.
o Manages design presentation preparation including mock-ups, mounting and PowerPoint summaries for all assigned projects.
o Manages project organization for all project binders; archives design solutions and illustrations.
o Engages in long term client relations with a dedication to the client business needs.
o Delivers professional client presentations in a clear, concise and direct manner that are engaging, visually compelling, persuasive and supported by a sound rationale and strategy.
o Works with the client management lead and the creative director of the business unit to establish budgets, timelines and deliverables for all assigned projects.
o Manages direct reports travel and entertainment budgets, training ensuring general expenditures remain within the budgeted allowance.
o Manages internal direct reports and external design talent for assigned projects to deliver on-time, on-strategy and on-budget solutions.
o Collaborates with other design directors to set expectations and standards (build a culture) for creative team attitude, behavior, teamwork and professional development.
o Directs the activities and professional development of direct reports, including performance evaluations, recommends salary adjustments; schedules and approves overtime; takes disciplinary action, addresses complaints and resolves issues.
o Manages quality control of projects, including proofing, reviewing creative output and project processes.
o Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES o Develops, coaches and mentors subordinate staff.

QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS o High school diploma or GED.
o Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in graphic design or package design plus 5 years of graphic design experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility OR 9 years of graphic design or package design experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
o Knowledge of the Macintosh platform, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop at an advanced level.
o Required to work extended hours as necessary to support the design team in meeting deadlines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS o Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in graphic design or package design plus 7 years graphic design experience.
o MBA/Master's degree.
o Design experience in wine packaging, distilled spirits, beer, beverage or cosmetics.
o Excellent color, design and typography skills.
o Strong organization and presentation skills and a drive for continual growth and excellence.
o Knowledge of packaging regulations and their implications on design decisions.
o Exceptional communication skills.
o Skilled in maintaining strict attention to detail.
o Stays current with design trends o Exudes a passion for design.
