Outside Sales Representative - Industrial Market

Purpose
The primary focus of the Industrial Sales Representative is to sell products, solutions and technologies to End User's, OEM's, Contractors, and Manufacturers in the designated territory. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and success within a team selling approach. They must be an aggressive self-starter with the ability to build multi-level relationships, align solutions and business strategies, while creating demand to close orders. Experience in generating opportunities with new and existing industrial customers is critical.
Responsible for meeting or exceeding assigned annual gross margin budget by promoting and selling Industrial products in assigned territory in compliance with the Company's pricing policies.
Conduct on site MRO assessments.
Assist customer in developing specifications and bills of material for projects, plant upgrades, and renovations.
Identify local automation projects where Graybar can be successful.
Develop relationships with General Contractors, Electrical Contractors, System Integrators, OEM's, Machine Builders, and Industrial End Users.
Create demand for Graybar's automation and control products and develop solutions including hardware (PLC's, control, and signaling systems and operator interface, networking, security, safety systems, UPS, and more ) and software for plant intelligence, human machine interfaces (HMI), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and plant automation systems for managing, controlling and improving the manufacturing processes.
Execute developmental and application solution sales with End User and System Integrator customers at the enterprise and the operations/production levels as appropriate.
Apply knowledge of industrial products and solutions, pricing plans, competition, marketing objectives, sales objectives and sales skills to sell products and solutions.
Utilize all available resources, including Manufacturer's Representatives and local Graybar Support Team, to support the ongoing industrial sales strategy.
Continually evaluate market strategy and sales plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
Demonstrate initiative in your own on-going professional development and keep abreast of innovations in technology through publications and seminars.

Requirements
Minimum Job Requirements
Minimum of 5 years sales experience in a similar or adjacent market.
High school diploma or GED required
Preferred Job Requirements
6-10 years sales experience in a similar or adjacent market.
Bachelor' degree in an Engineering field of study
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge
Strong technical background and experience selling industrial automation products and services including PLCs, HMI, software SCADA, Networking, VFD and Motor Control Products to key market segment in the industrial space (Water/Wastewater, Manufacturing and/or Processing Facilities, Food & Beverage, or Oil & Gas)
System Integration experience (sales, estimating and or engineering) is a plus
Skills
Exceptional negotiation skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Skillful in CRM software
Abilities
Self-motivated and have an entrepreneurial spirit while operating within a large company
Ability to sell and be persuasive
Working Conditions
Regional travel required for daily job function, so must have the ability to drive and operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license. Some extensive travel required on occasion for training opportunities and company functions.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
